Residents of Transcarpathian region sent over 15 tons of Easter goodies to ATO zone

On the eve of Easter Transcarpathian volunteers carried out the action “Easter for a soldier” in the course of which they collected and sent to the East for our countrymen about 15 tons of delicious Easter food for the feast, as reported by RISU correspondent Zoryana Popovych.

 

The traditional Transcarpathian Easter food stuff such as cakes, sausages, shovdars (Transcarpathian ham), eggs, sweets, etc. were sent to more than ten military units, where the soldiers from Transcarpathian region serve. The ​​volunteers’ idea about Easter shipment for Transcarpathian natives was supported by the regional council. Its chairman, Vasyl Hubal encouraged everyone to join this event. “I am convinced,” he wrote on his Facebook page, “that this brightest day should bring joy to our defense, so I call all residents of Transcarpathian region to participate in the “Easter for a soldier” action. Speaking today with the heads of regional departments, I urged them to join efforts in order to attract countryman, regional services and collect delicious and symbolic Easter food stuff to send to the East to the locations of our military. First of all I mean Easter cakes, but I think we will add something else that our guys like.”

Each region sent its riches: Vynohradiv sent cakes, ham and more than 200 kg of various sausages and meat products, Rakhiv sent meat and Hutsul cheese, herbal teas and honey. Two trucks arrived from Khust mainly with transfers from educational institutions.

As a result, the recipients of “Easter for a soldier became more than ten units in the ATO zone. The action organizers, wanting to cover all units where the people from Transcarpathian region served, directed large shipments to Mariupol and Luhansk regions. The artillerymen, a battalion of railroad servicemen, special purpose units and military law enforcement units in Luhansk region, volunteer squad “Carpathian Sich” and Ukrainian Volunteer Corps received homely warmth and Easter cakes.

 

The guys met the tracks at the appointed time and soldiers recorded greetings and thanked for home-like Easter mood.
