Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine Grieves Over Smolensk Crash Victims

On behalf of the Conference of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine, the head of the conference, Archbishop Mieczys?aw Mokrzycki, expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the Smolensk crash and to the Polish people.

The text of the address was published by the press service of the Lviv Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine.

“The deceased were well known state, church, and public figures of a neighboring state with whom we met, communicated, and jointly cared for the spiritual treasures and good relations between the brotherly peoples. Every time they stepped on the soil of the Ukrainian state, they would first visit Catholic shrines to begin good deeds with prayer,” reads the address.
