Roman Catholics of Lviv to hold a march for peace and end the war

The procession in honor of the Patron of the Roman Catholic Church Archdiocese in Ukraine, the Blessed Jacob Strepa, which is to be held on the city streets on Sept. 5, 201, according to organizers, is “not merelya manifestation of faith, but also a cry for peace, reconciliation and the termination of war.”

“As St. Jacob did, we want to deliverthe difficult situation in our state into the hands of the Mother of the Son of God, so during the procession we will read Rosary with these intentions. The spiritual leader of this year's celebrations will be Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak of Sosnowiec (Poland),” goes the statement.

 

After the celebrations a congregation will be held.

The program of the celebrations and congregation:

Sanctuary of St. Anthony of Padua (Lychakivska street 49a)

- 9:00 - Worship in honor of the Blessed Jacob Strepa

- 9:45 - Procession along the city streets to the Cathedral

Cathedral (Cathedral Square)

- 11:00 - Holy Mass – Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak of Sosnowiec will read the word of God and lead the Mass. After the Mass the medals of the Blessed Jacob Strepa will be conferred.

Bryukhovychi–The Seminary

- 13:30 - 14:00 Lunch

- 14:00 - Congregation
