Roman Shukhevych Remembered in Ternopil

In churches of the western Ukrainian Ternopil region, on February 5, 2010, memorial services for the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, Roman Shukhevych, were conducted.

TERNOPILIn churches of the western Ukrainian Ternopil region, on February 5, 2010, memorial services for the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, Roman Shukhevych, were conducted. According to UNIAN, on the 60th anniversary of the day of death of Roman Shukhevych, representatives of the regional state administration, regional council, and public organizations participated in the requiem meeting in the village of Hukiv of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast where the body of the commander was burnt.

The memorial events are also conducted with the participation of authorities and the public in the village of Zabolotivka of Chortkiv District where on March 1, 2009, a monument to the commander was installed and consecrated.
