Russia is preparing an information campaign against Ukraine after the adoption of the law on the so-called "ban" of the UOC-MP.

This was stated by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, according to LB.ua.

"Russia will intensify its activity in the information sphere after the parliament adopts a law on the so-called ban of the UOC-MP. There is certain information that our enemy, including, is preparing certain campaigns of informational influence on church themes. Certain organizations are being prepared that will loudly shout in our information space in the future (after the possible adoption of the law on the ban of the UOC-MP). And this is one of the threats," he said at a press conference.

According to Kovalenko, the second threat concerns the use of church themes in the American media space.

"Since the MAGA electorate, Donald Trump's, reacts very strongly to any oppression of Christianity. Russians are actively promoting narratives about the UOC-MP, claiming that there are alleged oppression of Christianity. But they do not say that it is the Russian army that destroys churches, including the UOC-MP, and kills UOC-MP priests. Our task here is to actively promote narratives that this is a threat not only internally Ukrainian but also externally. And this is not only the American track, but there is also Europe. This is a very important church history, which is often not public, but our special services deal with it, monitor all these threats," he added.

Andriy Kovalenko also reported that the first wave of the Russian campaign to discredit the government "Maidan-3" was successfully repelled. However, the campaign continues in Western media.
