The Russian Orthodox Church agrees to dialogue with the Patriarchate of Constantinople if the latter realizes the “mistakenness” of its actions in Ukraine, and apologizes.

The press secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, priest Alexander Volkov, said this on Monday when talking with journalists, TASS reported.

According to him, the path which Constantinople has taken, can become very difficult for all universal Orthodoxy and for believers in Ukraine, but everything can be solved if “Constantinople returns to the path of dialogue.”

He added that the ROC intends to continue to “stand in truth” and the only opportunity for dialogue to be launched can be “realization of the mistakenness of its actions by the Patriarchate of Constantinople and apologizing for those actions that have already caused substantial damage to the Plenitude of Orthodoxy.”
