Russian Orthodox official charged with treason

Yevgeny Petrin, an official of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, has been charged with treason for allegedly passing along information to the United States, according to the Interfax news agency.

According to media reports, Petrin had previously worked for Russia’s Federal Security Service, the successor agency to the KGB.

Russian media informed that Yevgeny Petrin was employee at theDepartment for External Church Relations in Ukraine. But deputy сhairman of the DECR UOC fr Mykola Danylevych stated that Yevgeny Petrin didnt work in Kyiv.
