Russians targeted civilian infrastructure in Kupiansk. The enemy struck the Jesus Christ Church.
According to the police, airstrikes hit a local café and the Protestant church. Under the rubble of the church was 58-year-old pastor and military chaplain Yuriy Klimko, as reported by Channel 24.
Unfortunately, the man could not be saved. He sustained injuries incompatible with life.
Also, the café premises were damaged. A 31-year-old woman was wounded, and her 39-year-old brother died.
Later, the chief of the investigative department of the Kharkiv region police, Serhiy Bolvinov, clarified that the occupiers used FAB-500 for the shelling. He also reported a fire in a residential building located near the church.
As of 15:10, there is information about three wounded and two dead. People are still being searched for under the rubble.
As of 15:30, the number of injured has increased to 5. Among them are 3 women and 2 men. They are receiving medical assistance.
At 13:28, the Air Force warned of a threat of bombings for the Kharkiv region. Later, explosions were heard in the region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported hits on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
Separately, the Kharkiv police reported shelling of the village of Ploske in the Velikoburlutska community. Information about damage and casualties is being clarified. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for violations of the laws and customs of war.
