Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found a place of illegal detention of people in the liberated Svyatogorsk, Donetsk region. The torture chamber was set up in a recreation boarding house near the Svyatogorsk Lavra.
The SBU shared it on their Telegram:
"The Russian military forcibly held local residents there who supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
During the inspection, SBU operatives and investigators found items indicating signs of torture. Now a series of investigative and operational activities are being carried out as part of the initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1, 2 of Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative and operational actions are continuing.
Now SBU investigators are establishing the number and identity of victims and Inhumans involved in torture.
Detection and documentation of illegal activities were carried out by employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions together with the State Border Guard Service under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office."
