Pope Francis will meet with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on April 27, on the eve of the pontiff's apostolic visit to Hungary.
This was reported by "European Pravda" with reference to the Italian agency ANSA.
According to the Vatican, the meeting at the Apostolic Palace is scheduled for Thursday at 9 am.
Shmyhal will arrive in Italy on Wednesday, April 26, and will be in Rome, where he will participate in a bilateral conference on the restoration of Ukraine and present its results together with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgio Meloni.
Pope Francis will visit Budapest, the capital of Hungary, from April 28 to 30, where he will meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orban. In Hungary, the Pope will also meet with refugees, youth, members of the local Church and representatives of the cultural sector, address the political and diplomatic authorities and lead a mass.
The Vatican stated that during his visit to Hungary, Pope Francis will, among other things, call for peace in Ukraine.
