The Collegium of the Main Council of the Ukrainian Society of Protection of Historic and Cultural Monuments defined a list of monuments to be included in the Red Book of the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

UNIAN learnt it from a member of the Main Council of the Ukrainian Society of Protection of Historic and Cultural Monuments, Oleksandr Bryhynets.

“All the 25 objects are well known to historians and local lore experts. Many of them were pathetic characters of journalist reportages and publications about the destruction of the monuments. Actions to protect the buildings were held in front of many of them. Inclusion thereof in the Red Book is a confirmation of a serious threat to them. It is a requirement of special attention on the part of the authorities and public. It is the SOS signal for those who care about Kyiv. I hope they include at least some of the Kyiv officials,” stressed Bryhynets.
