Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament Suggests that All-Ukrainian Council of Churches Sets Date of Common Prayer for Ukraine before Elections

At today’s meeting with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov proposed to determine the date of the common prayer for our country before parliamentary elections.

He believes that such an event will be supported by all branches of government, and the President of Ukraine together with the Government and Parliament will support this initiative.

Turchynov also expressed hope that the next Parliament will be “the powerful foundation of statehood that will protect the interests of Ukraine and make decisions to ensure our movement to Europe, the movement forward along the path that the Lord blesses,” reads his statement, which the official website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
