Sybiha meets with Apostolic Nuncio

On January 23, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas, Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Interlocutors discussed important topics related to cooperation between Ukraine and the Holy See, as well as the next steps to enhance bilateral dialogue. They emphasized the significance of transferring St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv to the Catholic community to further strengthen relations between Ukraine and the Holy See.

"We are grateful to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV for his prayers and moral support for the Ukrainian people. We appreciate the ongoing assistance and efforts of the Holy See in addressing the humanitarian consequences of the war, especially for Ukrainian children – promoting their recovery and advocating for the return of those who have been illegally deported by Russia," stated the Foreign Minister.

Andrii Sybiha also reported on the progress of peace efforts and the impact of Russian missile attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. He expressed gratitude to the Roman Catholic community for supporting Ukraine's interests on the global stage.
