The Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate was held under the headship of Pastriarch Filaret on December 13.

The hierarchs of the Kyiv Patriarchate expressed protest against the actions of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, dissatisfaction with the law on a unified state demographic register and decided to open a new spiritual seminary in Dnipropetrovsk.

According to the web site of UOC-KP, the bishops delegated Patriarch Filaret to address Ukraine’s president with a letter protesting against unlawful actions of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration and to ask the head of the state to protect the rights of the believers of UOC-KP.
