“Terrorism cannot be justified": Metropolitan Epifaniy on the Russian massive attack

28 August, 12:45

Terrorists are not guided by Christian values or moral principles but by passions: anger, envy, insensitivity, fear, and hatred.

This was stated by the Primate of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, commenting on the massive Russian attack on Ukraine.

“At its core, terrorism is a phenomenon that cannot be justified. After all, it is a deliberate murder, torture for some allegedly “higher” purpose. But what kind of “higher purpose” can be there when the aggressor neglects the greatest value - human life? Terrorists are not guided by Christian values or moral principles but by passions: anger, envy, insensitivity, fear, hatred... These passions enslave them and lead them into sin.

Today, when we confront the terrorist country, the evil empire that daily destroys our homes and kills our brothers and sisters, we must use our unity, strength and love to oppose this evil. Love is destructive to evil, for the one who loves cannot be indifferent. As long as we love, we help each other, support each other, nurture the best in ourselves and protect our neighbors,” said the Primate of the OCU.

Metropolitan Epifaniy is convinced that the entire international community must effectively oppose the Kremlin tyrant, his followers and executors of criminal orders of the hateful ideology of the “Russian world”, which poses a direct threat, including a nuclear one, to Ukraine and the whole world.
