The Church of Crete dismisses Archbishop Eirinaios from his duties

The Church of Crete enters a new era, as the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete unanimously decided to dismiss Archbishop Eirinaios from his duties, due to his deteriorating health condition.

The Synod took into account the affidavits of three doctors – University Professors for the chronic health problems of the Archbishop.

In an announcement issued by the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, the difficulty of such decision was emphasized, highlighting that it was taken with great respect and gratitude to the person, offer and work of Archbishop Eirinaios.

The announcement of the decision was made by the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Crete Prodromos Xenakis.
