Spiritual leader the Dalai Lama urged Ukraine and Russia to think about mutual benefit, for the common good to solve problems peacefully in a relationship. He stated this on the teachings of the Buddhists of the Baltic States in Riga, RIA Novosti reported.

“If there are differences between states, peoples, you have to think about how to solve problems for the common good. In the past we have also had a lot of battles… If military means could solve the problems, they would have decided long ago,” – said the Dalai Lama, to questions from the audience of his teachings.

He stressed that military conflicts are closely related societies it is impossible to call the winner or the victim – all suffer.

“They are two countries linked economically. Today the world is arranged so, that we depend on each other, and we need to think about mutual benefit,” said the Dalai Lama.

He cited the example of Pakistan and India: “if Pakistan will suffer, India will also suffer”.
