The Cabinet of Ministers will instruct ministries and central executive bodies to develop recommendations for the preservation or relocation of cultural heritage and national heritage sites under their jurisdiction.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrinform reports.

“Such an order will be given. We will analyze, make an inventory, respectively, in the direction of each of the ministries, and jointly work on their (cultural heritage sites - ed.) preservation or, if necessary, relocation,” Shmyhal said.

As the Prime Minister noted, in 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to conserve all cultural heritage sites that were damaged by Russian attacks and are located in the immediate area close to the hostilities. According to him, this work is being carried out by all ministries.

According to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, 2,156 cultural infrastructure facilities have been damaged or destroyed due to Russian aggression.
