Today, on December 13, in Rome, the Head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, met with Pope Francis
Metropolitan Epifaniy wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Today in Rome, at a meeting with Pope Francis, we talked about the importance of uniting the efforts of all people of goodwill to achieve just peace for Ukraine and Europe. I thanked His Holiness for the humanitarian aid to Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression. We especially appreciate the Pope's constant call to all believers to pray for peace for Ukraine,” said the Primate.
“We will also offer prayers for Ukraine with special inspiration in Rome in the Church of St. Theodore (Ecumenical Patriarchate) and in Bari in the Basilica of St. Nicholas near his holy relics. We believe that the Lord, through the intercession of the saints, at the request of millions of believers around the world, will bring the victory of truth and blessed peace to our land!” added the Head of the OCU.
As reported previously, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All-Ukraine began his first personal visit to Rome as the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
