The Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav and the head of the Pastoral and Migration Department of the UGCC bishop Stepan Sus held an online-meeting with priests of the UGCC who serve in 17 countries around the world with no hierarchal structures of the UGCC. The meeting touched on the issue of service in the circumstances of the post-COVID world and preparation for the Patriarchal Council entitled “Emigration, settlement and global unity of the UGCC”.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Beatitude Sviatoslav told about a post-synodal message of bishops of the UGCC connected directly with service, since it is about pastoral conversion.
The Head of the UGCC informed about holding the Patriarchal Council “Emigration, settlement and global unity of the UGCC” planned for 2023. “To do so, we ought to “audit” elected and appointed council’s delegates, as we want to hear everyone, especially the faithful who stay outside their Motherland”, the Major Archbishop said.
Thus, priests shared their experience of ministering in circumstances of the quarantine and told about specificity of pastoral care in the countries of their stay.
At the end of the meeting bishop Stepan Sus thanked all the present for an opportunity to meet and create an online community in such uneasy time.
