On Sunday, October 22, the XII World Congress of Ukrainians took place, one of the issues of which was the election of new leadership for the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC). Approximately 300 delegates and guests from 30 countries around the world participating in the congress were greeted by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC). He wished for them to be messengers of the truth about Ukraine's struggle.
This was reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.
The Head of the UGCC thanked the members of the UWC for their assistance to their compatriots during the war with the Russian occupiers, which can be described by the motto "God and Ukraine." "Your efforts," noted the Head of the UGCC, "are aimed at supporting those affected by the war, including displaced migrants, of whom, according to sociological research, there are already millions. We highly appreciate your ongoing cooperation with our Church, which has yielded many good results for our much-suffering motherland, Ukraine."
"Thank you for continuing to care about preserving and promoting Ukrainian identity in the world. I kindly request you: be messengers of the truth about our struggle in the places where you reside. The world must know that Ukraine exists, that it is fighting and praying! Use the tools available to you to open the world's eyes to the ideology of the 'Russian world,' which has led to numerous destructions and, most terrifyingly, the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians in our state," urged His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
The Head of the UGCC also asked the UWC members to discuss the issue of restoration in Ukraine of what was destroyed in a barbaric manner. "You have many tasks ahead of you," the Patriarch of the UGCC was convinced, "but I believe that your enthusiasm and love for the Motherland will give you the strength and inspiration to accomplish everything planned for the good of the global Ukrainian community."
