The head of the UGCC met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

The Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Sviatoslav, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Melnyk, upon his request.

This information was reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.

The meeting focused on discussing a wide range of issues and challenges faced by both the Church and the Ukrainian state in the context of international relations during the ongoing war.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav informed Mr. Andriy about recent initiatives undertaken by the Church and its various activities, including relations with the Apostolic See, European countries, and Latin America. They also discussed the life of the UGCC and the Ukrainian community in Brazil and Argentina. The meeting participants discussed the peculiarities of Latin American culture, the current political situation in these countries, and their attitude towards Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the important role of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in consolidating the global Ukrainian community and expressed gratitude for the Church's active engagement in diplomatic relations with various international partners of Ukraine. According to him, the UGCC always represents the voice of the Ukrainian people, helping the international community understand the tragedy caused by the war for our people.
