On Wednesday, March 30, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said at a briefing that allegedly Jewish objects in Uman are being used by "Ukrainian nationalists".
The United Jewish community of Ukraine has officially stated in its Telegram that all synagogues and Jewish facilities in Ukraine are used exclusively for their intended purpose, for carrying out religious activities or helping members of Jewish communities and the local population, reports Jewish news.
Even based on the photo published for provocative purposes, it is obvious that the synagogue gates are closed, and no one is inside.
The Rabbi Nachman Foundation in Uman confirms that the synagogue mentioned in the statement, the second-largest in Ukraine, was closed after Rosh Hashanah (which was celebrated in September 2021) and has not been used since.
