The statue of Christ the Redeemer on Goshivska Mountain in Truskavets.

A 12-meter-high statue of Christ the Saviour was consecrated on Goshivska Mountain, from which the entire Truskavets of the Lviv region can be seen. This is a copy of a similar sculpture in Rio de Janeiro.

While it reaches 39.6 meters in Brazil, in Truskavets it is three times smaller. This was reported by the Golos Ukrayiny (Voice of Ukraine) newspaper on September 1.

The largest statue of Jesus Christ was consecrated by Bishop of the UGCC, Yaroslav Pryriz. Several hundred residents and guests of Truskavets gathered for the celebrations, maintaining a quarantine distance.

The initiator of the construction of this sculpture, which was built for several years, was a local entrepreneur Igor Kisak, the author of the project - architect Ivan Bodnarchuk.

On the occasion of the consecration of the statue, a liturgy was held in the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The City Council believes that the sculpture of Christ the Saviour will become a place of pilgrimage for tourists and guests of Truskavets. From the site on Goshevska mountain, you can see a magnificent panorama of the resort city.
