The next Verkhovna Rada session to begin with the bill banning the Moscow Patriarchate

The next parliamentary session will begin with consideration of a bill to ban the Moscow Patriarchate, and if it is not put to a vote, MPs will again block the rostrum.

The fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"Friends, I have good news: we have scored the first tactical victory in the fight to ban the Russian church in Ukraine, the FSB agents.

Firstly, if they do not pass a law banning the Moscow church in the coming days, no sessions will be held in the Verkhovna Rada.

Second, the next session of the Rada will begin with the law banning the Russian church.

Third, the working group will work out several important issues before the Rada session: the deadline for resolving this issue is August 20; both the government and the Verkhovna Rada can apply to the court to liquidate the Moscow Patriarchate, etc." Poroshenko said.

According to him, this became possible due to all parliamentary factions being united, except for the OPZZh (Opposition Platform — For Life). Many "servants" also took part in blocking the rostrum.

"The fifth column of the Russian Federal Security Service in Ukraine must be eliminated. Those who wish to work for the enemy must be banned. Those who love God and Ukraine can join the one autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine. It's as simple as that," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
