The Synod of the OCU, which took place in Kyiv on February 2, established the Diocese of Bila Tserkva.

This is reported on the official website of the OCU.

The new diocese will be separated from the Kyiv diocese.

Archbishop Evstratiy (Zorya) was elected as the head of the Diocese of Bila Tserkva, simultaneously freeing him from the leadership of the Chernihiv diocese.

Anthony (Firley), who was released from the duties of the vicar of the Kyiv diocese, was appointed bishop of Chernihiv and Nizhyn.

The OCU Synod elected Archimandrite Efrem (Khomyak), a monk of St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, as the Kyiv Diocese Vicar Bishop of Vasylkiv. His ordination will be held in Kyiv.
