The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv extended the term of the precautionary measures for Metropolitan Pavlo (Lebed) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) for two months.
This information was provided to Hromadske by the lawyer of Metropolitan Pavlo, Mykita Chekman.
On January 22, journalist Yan Dobronosov published a video showing Metropolitan Pavlo getting into a car near the courthouse, where a hearing on his precautionary measures was taking place. According to the journalist, Metropolitan Pavlo expressed gratitude to the judges and the prosecutor.
As the lawyer mentioned, Metropolitan Pavlo's term of duties has been extended until March 23. Previously, he was obliged to appear in court upon the first demand, not leave his place of residence (Voronkiv village, Kyiv region), wear an electronic bracelet, and refrain from communicating with witnesses and victims.
Chekman added that Metropolitan Pavlo has also been allowed to visit a doctor. It is worth recalling that in August, he was diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction and underwent surgery in the cardiology department of one of the Kyiv hospitals.
Before that, on August 7, Metropolitan Pavlo was released from custody after posting bail, the amount of which exceeded 33 million hryvnias. At the same time, the court extended the duration of his personal commitments within the pre-trial investigation period.
