In an extended interview with the BBC, the Prime Minister of Ukraine spoke positively about giving Tomos to the local Church of Ukraine.

"Tomos is one of the geopolitically important steps for Ukraine. This step has been taken, and now Ukraine has its own local Church. I think that in geopolitical and historical terms, it is a crucial development that will be appreciated by history and our descendants. Ukraine already sees its value," he said in an interview with the BBC.

Religious experts of the Cerkvarium website say that Prime Minister Shmygal's assessment of the religious situation gives hope for the current government's objective attitude to the problematic inter-church relations and the prevention of retaliation of one of the denominations.
"It is already obvious that the government will not fight the OCU, despite all the efforts of the UOC-MP to pit them against each other," the experts emphasize.
