Lviv region became the first in Ukraine to have no more registered religious communities of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyy, shared this information on his Facebook page.

“It is a historic day for the Lviv region, as it has been cleansed of religious communities subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate,” he said.

According to Kozytskyy, in 2014, there were 66 religious communities of the UOC-MP in the region. As of February 24, 2022, there were 54 such communities.

During the full-scale invasion, 27 communities joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, while 27 ceased their activities on their own initiative.

"The fate of these religious communities once again proves that manipulation and deception have no future. There are only two ways - truth or lies. And the truth is sure to win!

I sincerely hope that the religious communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in other regions of our country will not wait for the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Field of Religious Organizations” and will finally sever ties with the structure of the bloody Moscow priests,” Kozytskyy stressed.
