The Tithe Church will be built not on the foundations of the ancient Tithe Church, but to the side, said Kyiv’s chief architect, Serhii Tselovalnyk, reported Religion in Ukraine with reference to Кiyany.obozrevatel.
He said that together with the archimandrite Gideon and the leader of the working group, Yurii Miroshnychenko, he visited Metropolitan Volodymyr of the UOC-MP with a model for a fortress and a proposition to construct the church near the foundations.
Tselovalnyk explained that the church cannot be erected on the ruins, and the hierarch supported the idea of moving the new church from this place. The architect said that it is not about the church or monastery but about the complex, where there foundations of the church will be preserved as a museum, and a place will be organized for tourism.
We recall that a few days ago the head of the Tithe Monastery, Archimandrite Gideon, said that the construction of the Tithe Church should be the final point in uniting the Kyivan and Moscow Patriarchates.
