Yevhen Mahda, Director of the Institute of World Politics, stated that the flow of religious communities to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine would weaken the position of the Russian Orthodox Church not only in Ukraine, but throughout the entire Orthodox world.

Yevhen Mahda, Director of the Institute of World Politics, stated that the flow of religious communities to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine would weaken the position of the Russian Orthodox Church not only in Ukraine, but throughout the entire Orthodox world.

He spoke about this on Pryamyy TV channel in the talk show Situation.

“The theme of the creation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine for Russia is painful for a very simple reason: the more powerful the Orthodox Church of Ukraine becomes, the less powerful becomes the Russian Orthodox Church, that is, it is like two tubes that are interconnected." And the flow, which I think after January 6 will become more intense, the flow of religious communities – it will weaken the position of the ROC not only in Ukraine, but also in the universal Orthodoxy as a whole,” said Mahda.
