U.S. President Donald Trump's ultimatum to Russia to end the war in Ukraine within 50 days serves as a clear deadline for Putin and indicates that peace must come quickly.
This position was expressed in a comment to Ukrinform by Trump's spiritual advisor, Pastor Mark Burns.
“President Trump's recent 50-day ultimatum to Russia sends a strong message that peace must be achieved quickly,” stated the US president's spiritual advisor, Pastor Burns. He noted that it would be more effective to set a shorter deadline for the Kremlin, suggesting three days instead of 50, because every day lost results in more bloodshed. Nevertheless, Burns welcomed the fact that the president has at least defined a clear line.
The pastor emphasized that ending the war would be a victory for peace, justice, and for every mother praying for her child. He explained that Russia's actions are not only political acts of aggression but also spiritual crimes against humanity. “There is no doubt that Putin's regime is conducting a campaign of terror, not only against Ukraine's sovereignty but also against the very image of God in its people,” Pastor Burns declared.
Trump's spiritual advisor also highlighted that justice will only prevail if America “backs up its ultimatum with the military power necessary to ensure that Ukraine has everything it needs to defend its people and their God-given right to freedom.”
Burns reiterated his commitment to speak out against evil, stating he would not remain silent while such actions go unpunished. He aims to be one of the most vocal voices in America condemning Putin's war.
“We will not sit idly by while Christians are persecuted and churches are destroyed. I call on every believing man and woman, every true patriot, to unite with President Trump, with Ukraine, and with the God of justice, who always stands with the oppressed,” the pastor urged.
He concluded by asserting that peace without strength is surrender, and silence in the face of evil is complicity.
