UAOC hierarch appointed counsellor on religious matters for Ukraine’s Defense Minister

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration Ihor Dolgov met on August 17 with the newly appointed counsellor to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense on religious matters (civic volunteer) a hierarch of Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Bishop Volodymyr (Cherpak) of Vyshgorod and Podol.

Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine for European Integration presented Volodymyr (Cherpak) with a certificate of counsellor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on religious matters and welcomed the start of work.

 

The sides discussed topical issues of the process of establishment of the military clergy service (chaplaincy) in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

 

In conclusion, Ihor Dolgov thanked Bishop Volodymyr (Cherpak) of Vyshgorod and Podol Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church for the support and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation. It was reported by UAOC Patriarchate.
