On September 30, 2015, Patriarch Sviatoslav made a courtesy visit to the newly elected Primate of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Makariy (Maletych) to present compliments and greetings on his election.
The first official personal meeting of the Primates of Churches was held at the residence of Metropolitan Makariy at Tryokhsvyatytelska street, 8-a, in Kyiv.
During the meeting, which was held in a warm and friendly ambience, the primates discussed prospects of further cooperation, noting they should leave behindall the old misunderstandings and focus on the establishment of good Christian relations in an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood. They alsodiscussedspecial aspects of the religious situation in Ukraine during the meeting.
On this occasion, His Beatitude Sviatoslav presented to the UAOC Primate the Concept of Ecumenical position of UGCC, which was finalized and approved by the Synod of Bishops.
