UGCC Catechism to be translated into five languages

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church's Catechism, and in the future its Compendium, will be translated into five languages: Russian, English, Portuguese, Spanish and Polish. Translations will be done in those countries where the above-mentioned languages are mother tongues, and the Catechetical Commission will do the final proofreading.

“The translation in itself is not an easy endeavor, especially if one deals with theological and religious terminology. We will make sure that the proper vocabulary is used, which will also be understood in other countries. It will be the responsibility of our commission and of our Committee on Writing the Catechism. The synod entrusted us to carry out this project,” said S. Luisa Tsyupa about further plans of the working group on the Catechism in her interview to the UGCC Information Department.

The official presentation of the UGCC Catechism will take place on June 24-25 in Lviv.
