UGCC Exarch presented a donation to Metropolitan Agafangel for the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa

Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail visited the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa, which was hit by a Russian missile on July 23. During his visit, he prayed before the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and met with the clergy and parishioners who are currently involved in the restoration efforts.

As reported by View from Odesa, the press service of the UOC-MP Eparchy of Odesa reported that numerous expressions of support and sympathy have been received for Metropolitan Agafangel from heads of churches and denominations, prominent public and political figures, and Orthodox hierarchs. The bombing of the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral by Russian forces has stirred immense outrage worldwide and united people in solidarity with Odesa.

In addition, the Exarch of Odesa of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Bishop Mykhailo Bubniy, sent a letter conveying sincere words of sympathy from the Greek-Catholic community of Odesa and a donation for the restoration of the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral.

The letter states that no one can remain indifferent to such a great tragedy, and it expresses heartfelt condolences to Metropolitan Agafangel and the entire clergy and faithful of the UOC-MP. It also emphasizes that supporting the restoration of the destroyed cathedral is a symbol of love and sympathy from people all over the world.

The UOC-MP Eparchy extends its sincere gratitude to all those who have come to help during this difficult time, assisting in clearing debris, cleaning up the area, lighting candles, and praying for the restoration of Odesa's main shrine and victory.
