"There are great expectations that our Church will regain its youthfulness and freshness in this country. Its freshness arises through openness to the challenges facing our Church. Our Church-martyr has something to share and has something to say to Christians in America, in particular to Catholics," said the Head of the UGCC.

He explained that the faithful also have their own expectations, looking forward to modernization of the church, "that is, it will keep pace with the times and will respond to the circumstances that now exist, that it will assemble all the faithful of our Church which are scattered throughout the vast expanses of America."

This was reported by the Department of Information of the UGCC.
