On the second anniversary of the departure of His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar of the blessed memory, on May 31, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Sviatoslav administered a memorial service in the Church of the Holy Annunciation in Lviv.

This is reported by the Department of Information of the UGCC.

“If we remember our Beatitude Lubomyr Husar not only as a person, but also remember in the first place everything he gave us, then this memory will be life-giving. We will remember him by our way of life, his attitude towards himself and his neighbor,” said Patriarch Sviatoslav.

According to the head of the UGCC, we should remember what His Beatitude Lubomyr taught us and try to embody it. “I think that we all knew our Beatitude Lubomyr when we collaborated with him, and certain features of his character, attitude, even humor, continue to live in us in one way or another,” the bishop said.

He also added that His Beatitude Lubomyr taught us never to judge either ourselves or our neighbors. Moreover, he lived in prayer and always was a positive person. Therefore, we must be thankful to God for the gift of his life and to His Beatitude Lubomyr for all that he has given us.

“Today we pray for his eternal rest, for (perhaps) this is what he needs now the most, we are also asking him to pray for us, for our Church, the state and people before the throne of God,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
