Ukrainian Greek Catholic Head Meets with Apostolic Nuncio in Kyiv

On 6 October, 2011, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) met with the new Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine Thomas Edward Gallicson at the Apostolic Nunciature in Kyiv.

On 6 October, 2011, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) met with the new Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine Thomas Edward Gallicson at the Apostolic Nunciature in Kyiv, reported the Information Department of UGCC.

During this first meeting between the patriarch and the nuncio, the participants shared their thoughts regarding the inter-confessional situation in Ukraine and discussed the status of the State-Church relations.

The Head of UGCC presented to the Nuncio an Icon of Pope John Paul II and invited him to attend a brotherly meeting between the Roman and Greek Catholic bishops to be held on 26 October in Lviv-Briukhovychi.
