Father Oleksandr Dorykevych, a Greek Catholic priest from the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy, was tragically killed in a car accident in Spain on April 14.

Father Oleksandr Dorykevych, a Greek Catholic priest from the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy, was tragically killed in a car accident in Spain on April 14, the Apostolic Visitor for the Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Italy and Spain Dionysiy Liakhovych wrote in a letter to Metropolitan Volodymyr Viytyshyn of Ivanо-Frankivsk, which was posted on the website of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy.

Father Oleksandr Dorykevych was born August 24, 1961, in Ivano-Frankivsk. He is married and raised three children. On July 11, 1998, he was ordained a deacon by Bishop Sophron Mudriy, OSBM, and on July 12, 1998, a priest.

He ministered on the territory of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archeparchy, and in recent years he provided spiritual support to faithful of the UGCC in Spain.
