Representing the Muslim community in Ukraine, the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Ukraine (SDMU), known as "Umma," extends its profound condolences to our brethren and sisters in Morocco, as well as the families affected by the recent devastating earthquake.

This heartfelt message was shared by Murat Suleimanov, the Mufti of the Religious Directorate of Muslims of Ukraine "Umma," on his Facebook page.

"We implore Almighty Allah to grant fortitude and patience to the bereaved families and loved ones. May the Most High bestow His mercy upon the souls of those who have passed away.

As Muslims, we bear the responsibility to remember that we all belong to Allah, and it is to Him that we shall return," he underscored.

"Earthquakes serve as a divine sign. It is incumbent upon people to reflect upon these signs and turn to their Creator.

The Holy Quran says:

"سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ"

"We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?" (Quran, Surah Fussilat, Ayah 53).

According to the latest reports from Morocco's Ministry of the Interior, the devastating earthquake that struck on Friday evening has claimed the lives of at least 2,012 individuals, with an additional 2,059 people suffering injuries.

This was reported by Ukrinform, with reference to CNN.

The ministry further indicates that out of the 2,059 individuals injured, a critical condition has been reported for at least 1,404 of them. Efforts are underway to transport those affected to city hospitals, with medical personnel conducting triage for numerous patients in makeshift outdoor facilities.
