Ukrainian Parliament Did Not Consider Question of Liquidation of Committee on Protection of Social Morality.

The tenth session of the Supreme Council ended without the consideration of Bill № 10447 which was initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers and envisages liquidation of the National Expert Committee on matters of protection of social morality.

The tenth session of the Supreme Council ended without the consideration of Bill № 10447 which was initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers and envisages liquidation of the National Expert Committee on matters of protection of social morality. So reported the Institute for Religious Freedom (IRF).        

Recently, the members of the government and heads of the parliamentary factions received a number of addresses from the Churches and religious organizations with the request to preserve and ensure further activity of the committee.  

Bill № 10221, which envisages making substantial alterations to the Law of Ukraine On freedom of Worship and Religious Organizations. The Ministry of Justice and the author of the bill agreed with the proposal of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations to make no alterations to the mentioned law.
