Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate urged members of terrorist groups acting in Donbas to lay down their arms and take advantage of the state program “You are waited for at home.”

It was reported by the Church’s press-service.

“We urge these people to quickly abandon their criminal activities and to turn to the Ukrainian police with a request to participate in the program for exemption from criminal liability,” reads the statement.

The UOC-KP appeals to the relatives and friends of people with a request to advise the members of illegal armed groups to take advantage of this program.

“Dozens of former members of so-called people's republics have taken advantage of this opportunity, they are exempt from prosecution by the courts and are now with their families,” the church press-service claims.

The report also specifies that the program “You are waited for at home” envisages exemption from criminal liability for members of illegal armed formations given their voluntarily disarmament and if they have not been involved in murder, torture, rape and other serious crimes.
