UOC-Moscow Patriarchate Nominates New Bishop

On December 12, 2009, the rite of nomination as bishop of the "God-saved city of Novomoskovsk" of Archimandrite Evlohii (Patsan) of UOC-MP, teacher of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, was conducted.

KYIV According to the web site of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, on December 12, 2009, in the session hall of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), in the primate's residence at the Kyiv Cave Monastery, the rite of nomination as bishop of the "God-saved city of Novomoskovsk" of Archimandrite Evlohii (Patsan), teacher of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, was conducted.

Note that the decision for the election of Archimandrite Evlohii (Patsan) as bishop of Novomoskovsk, Vicar of the Diocese of Dnipropetrovsk, was approved at the session of the Holy Synod of the UOC of November 24, 2009 (Journal No.73).   

The bishop ordination of Archimandrite Evlohii (Patsan) is to take place on December 13 at the Divine Liturgy held at the Refectory Church of the Kyiv Cave Monastery.
