UOC-MP Chose Representative for World Summit of Religious Leaders

At the World Summit of Religious Leaders on April 26-27, 2010, in Baku, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate will be represented by Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol and Crimea.

KYIV-BAKU – At the World Summit of Religious Leaders on April 26-27, 2010, in Baku, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate will be represented by Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol and Crimea.

The main theme of the forum is "Globalization, Religion, and Traditional Values." The participants of the event will search for ways to reach a peaceful and just world order and overcome existing threats, giving new impetus to the interreligious dialogue.

On April 25 a meeting of the Interreligious Council of the CIS will be held also with the participation of Metropolitan Lazar.

According to E-Krym, the leaders of the largest Christian churches, Islamic, Jewish, Buddhist, and Hindu communities are invited to the summit.
