UOC MP Priest adjusted fire for Donbas terrorists, - Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office
Pechersky District Court of Kyiv satisfied the petition of Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office on holding a special pre-trial investigation against the former archpriest of the Holy Iveron Convent in Donetsk of the UOC (MP), who adjusted artillery fire of the terrorist organization of “Donetsk People’s Republic”. It was reported by the Press Service of Kyiv Prosecutor's Office. According to the findings of pre-trial investigation, in January 2015, the said priest, while in Makiyivka (Donetsk region), received from an unidentified person the coordinates of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Mykolaivka and subsequently handed them to representatives of the terrorist organization “Donetsk People’s Republic”. On the same day, an artillery unit of the military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was based near the village of Mykolaivka was shot three times by illegal armed groups of “Donetsk People’s Republic”. The investigation department of State Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kyiv region made preliminary inquiry into this incident under Part. 1, Art. 258-3 (assistance to terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At this time, a ruling of Pechersk District Court. Kyiv was received to detain the clergyman to participate in the consideration of the request for election of detention as a restraint measure. The sanction of part 1 Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment of imprisonment for a term from 8 to 15 years with confiscation of property or without it.
