UWC calls for global Holodomor hearings to mark its 90th anniversary
This information is provided on the Congress's website.
The UWC proposes that civic organizations and figures in countries that have not yet recognized the Holodomor as a genocide address their governments with a corresponding appeal letter and participate in a worldwide campaign dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Stalinist regime's crime.
The Congress expressed gratitude to Ukraine's partners for their consistent and unwavering support, particularly governments that have recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as the genocide of Ukrainians. Simultaneously, the UWC calls on other countries to join the initiative to establish justice.
"We urge states to conduct special solemn parliamentary sessions or hearings in parliamentary committees to honor the memory of those murdered by the horrific Soviet regime," urged the UWC.
The letter for countries that have already recognized the Holodomor as a genocide, urging official commemoration or parliamentary hearings on the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor genocide, is available at the link.
