The head of the All-Ukrainian Union of Evangelical Christian Baptist Churches, Valerii Antoniuk, called on all Christians in Ukraine and around the world to join in a common prayer for victory and a just peace for Ukraine. In his video message, he emphasized that the spiritual unity of believers is an important factor in the struggle for freedom and the future of the state.
“The Church remembers this time, prays and fights. We are resisting the devil's plans to destroy Ukraine, to deprive us of our freedom, the right to believe and speak. But his plans did not come to pass!” Antoniuk emphasized. This was reported by Slovo pro Slovo.
The National Day of Prayer is a day of unity and spiritual struggle. For 10 years, prayer events have been held in Ukraine: prayers on Khreshchatyk, in the Palace of Sports, and in regional and district centers. This tradition has become the basis for decision-making at the state level.
Valerii Antoniuk emphasized that Ukraine became the second country in the world after the United States to officially establish a National Day of Prayer. He emphasized that this day should become a special moment of intense prayer and spiritual unity of Christians of different denominations.
“Prayer is a powerful weapon to destroy the enemy's plans. We call on all churches, ministers and believers to intensify prayers, hold meetings, and support IDPs, families of the military, widows and those affected by the war on February 23-24. Together, we pray, we act, and together, we will win!”
On this day, the Verkhovna Rada and local administrations are planning events, prayers and performances of the Ukrainian national anthem, “Lord, Oh the Great and Almighty, Protect Our Beloved Ukraine” ("Prayer for Ukraine").
Ukrainian Christians are invited to pray together to stop evil, do good, and expedite Ukraine's victory.
