Vatican's special envoy visits camp housing Russian prisoners of war

Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Holy See’s Special Envoy for Ukraine, has arrived in Kyiv.

This information was reported by Andrii Yurash, Ukraine's ambassador to the Holy See.

According to him, one of the most significant events during Cardinal Matteo Zuppi's important visit as the Holy See's Special Envoy for Ukraine was his visit to the camps where Russian prisoners of war are held. Yurash emphasized that Ukraine is demonstrating its commitment to being a civilized nation, open to dialogue and seeking pathways to establish a just and lasting peace.

"The cardinal visited a camp that adheres to all international standards and is accessible to anyone who wishes to observe the conditions under which Ukraine holds its prisoners of war. His Eminence listened attentively to everyone who wanted to speak with him and share their experiences," the ambassador added.
