On February 19, a prayer for Ukraine was held at the Archbishop's Cathedral of St. Stephen in Vienna.

This is reported by its own correspondent Ukrinform in Austria.

Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn and the ordinary for the faithful of the Eastern Catholic churches of Austria made a call to pray for Ukraine in the main cathedral of Vienna, which began at 17.00.

As noted by the vicar general of the ordinary for the faithful of all Eastern Catholic Churches in Austria, Fr. Yuriy Kolasa, in addition to all diplomatic efforts, another effort will remain the most powerful and encouraging - this is a common prayer.

"Prayer is crucial for resolving the crisis related to aggression against Ukraine," Fr. Yuriy Kolasa said.

At the beginning of the joint prayer in front of the icon of the Mother of God, the Virgin Mary was pointed out the concern with which everyone is closely following the development of events in Ukraine. A separate speech was also made by the Ukrainian ambassador to Austria Vasyl Khimynets, who stressed Ukraine's commitment to a peaceful settlement amid Russia's attempts to unleash a bloody war in the center of Europe.
